A great float entry takes some time, so start planning now to participate in the Deutschen Pfest Parade on Saturday, May 20. The Deutschen Pfest parade begins with the children’s parade from the corner of Railroad and Main Street and runs down to 4th Street. Children are encouraged to dress in costume, decorate a bike, ride in a wagon and be a part of the fun with the children’s parade starting at 10:45 a.m. Prizes are given for best German theme, most decorative wagon/bike, most creative entry and youngest participant.
For the main parade starting at 10 a.m. at the corner of Railroad and Pfennig, you’ll enjoy marching bands, floats and entries of all kinds. Round up the baseball team, the scouts, your civic group or organization and be a part of the parade. There is no cost to participate in the parade, and it’s a ton of fun. Awards given for best youth organization, best local business, best out of town entry, best non-profit and best local business.
